3 Steps to Feel Better in 8 Seconds
1. Bistro Breaks to Feel Better
I introduce the concept of a “bistro break,” which is a small, intentional break away from electronics and work.
These breaks can be as brief as five minutes and involve activities like closing your eyes, lying on your back, putting your legs up, looking at nature, or taking a quick walk.
2. Holding an 8-Second Hugs to Feel Better
An eight-second hug as part of both the bistro break and as a standalone practice.
According to studies holding a hug for at least eight seconds releases oxytocin (the feel-good hormone), which can reduce stress, boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, and improve overall mood and emotional health.

3. Hug More During the Week to Feel Better
In this episode, I highlight the importance of incorporating more hugs into our weekday routines.
By consciously adding more hugs during the workweek, when stress levels are typically higher, one can reduce anxiety, enhance feelings of safety, and generally improve their emotional well-being.
