Guest Bio: Sydney Torres

As a former certified nursing assistant of six years, Sydney Torres went from working in the ER, ICU, and Med-Surg to starting her own virtual health clinic, Balance Health Now. After dealing with her own health challenges, and hearing countless times, “everything is normal”  she realized there was a better way to approach chronic health conditions.

Now as a certified Functional Nutrition Practitioner and Certified Bloodwood Specialist, she helps people with unresolved chronic health complaints use those so-called “normal” labs as a personal road map to go to regain health and vitality.

Sydney is the host of the podcast, Balance Health Now. Think of her as a health detective finding the underlying root causes of what’s going on within your body. No more is she willing to accept there is nothing wrong with you or that your blood labs are “normal”. Contact Sydney via email. Tune in and enjoy!

Here are the three main takeaways from this episode:

1. Become your own health detective by learning how to read your own blood lab work and advocating for your health. This includes asking for a copy of your blood lab work, reviewing it yourself, and bringing any concerns to your doctor’s attention.

2. Keep a food journal for at least a week to track how certain foods make you feel physically and mentally. This can help you identify patterns and make more informed decisions about your diet.

3. Experiment with different types of foods to find what works best for your body. This includes trying new foods from local farmers markets, sampling different foods, and finding creative ways to incorporate food that boosts your energy and mood, such as Moringa powder.
